Mario Bevilacqua
Craftsmanship and technique, passion and creativity, history and legend, style and tradition – this is what Mario Bevilacqua can offer you in his fabric shops in Venice.
Venetian textile production
The renowned textile production of the Bevilacqua family is displayed here in all its variations:
velvets, canopies, damasks, brocades, cushions, banners, tapestries, recounting eight centuries of
Venetian fabric tradition.
Bevilacqua Family
Venice, surrounded by water like mighty walls enclosing and protecting even those arts that the world envies, appreciates, and seeks.
It is right here, for three centuries, that the Bevilacqua family continues with pride and determination to weave on the golden and manual wooden looms of the ancient Luigi Bevilacqua Weaving, present in two historic shops that the best guidebooks recommend visiting, integrated into the tourist routes exploring art in Venice.
Our shops
Visit our shops
Entering our shops means experiencing ancient Venice, immediately savouring the soothing pleasure of bygone things, of real things where modern technology has remained outside in vain anticipation. You are enveloped in velvets, damasks, brocades woven with gold and silver, sensing the sharp scent of silk, and the colours ensure that the sun shines even in the evening.

The two Mario Bevilacqua shops are both located in San Marco, at 337/b Fondamenta Canonica, right behind St. Mark's Basilica and next to the Bridge of Sighs.
In Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, in a historic shop mentioned and preserved as one of the last examples of a workshop from past centuries, without shop windows but with a large door always open, and two windows from which fabrics meet people to be seen, touched, and known.
